Modern laptops with dual graphics utilize Intel GPU for main display when running on battery, while NVIDIA GPU is made available when a high-performance profile is selected from application or when powered by DC power supply. Unfortunately, in certain cases the Optimus layer may interfere with correct detection of available GPU resources that can be used in Thea Presto CPU+GPU. This has led in the past to situations where the initialization of Thea Presto during Studio start-up to fail in the Initialize Kernel and Resources stage. Under Windows the break in system start-up would appear as a program crash.

SOLUTION:
Please perform update of the NVIDIA GPU driver and the Intel GPU (HD graphics) driver. A combined driver update of Intel and NVIDIA GPU drivers respectively is known to correct crash issue. Once update has been performed, correct OpenGL ICD is selected during start-up therefore Studio application and plugins will initialize correctly.
